An independent repair company based in Paramus, working two towns and no more.

Universal Appliance is built around a small idea: the territory ought to be small enough that we know it properly. Two towns, Paramus and Teaneck, about four miles apart. Everything else follows from that.

How a Visit Runs

We come to the appliance. Nothing is carried off to a bench somewhere, and nothing waits in a queue behind other people’s machines. Whoever turns up has already loaded the parts that most commonly quit on your particular model, which is why a good share of them finish in a single visit.

The order never varies. Test the machine. Quote a single price covering part and labor both. Wait for your yes. Then start taking things apart.

What We Hold To

Pricing you can read first. Starting figures for the common repairs are published on this site, which is a good deal further than the trade normally cares to go.

Trained, insured people. Every technician is insured, checked before hire, and carries manufacturer training on the equipment he opens. Sealed refrigerant work is done under EPA Section 608 certification. We are an independent shop, not anybody’s appointed agent.

Houses and businesses. A split-level kitchen off Century Road before lunch, then a laundry room in an apartment building or a line in a Cedar Lane restaurant after it. Commercial equipment gets scheduled around your service hours instead of against them.

Built-ins done carefully. Refrigeration columns, stacked wall ovens and panel-fronted dishwashers are routine work here. Getting one out of tight custom millwork without leaving a mark is slow, and we let it be slow.

Where We Work

Paramus and Teaneck, Bergen County, New Jersey. That is the entire list, and it is deliberate.

What You Get

  • One figure, agreed before the work starts, with the diagnostic charge inside it.
  • Genuine manufacturer parts while the supply still carries them, listed on the invoice by number.
  • Warranty terms covering parts and labor, on paper, in your hand.
  • An honest verdict on whether the machine is worth repairing at all.
